Apply most of the patch from #1794250 (thanks):
Remove compiler specific flags. Add configure option to specify the path to libvte.so. Remove many unnecessary configure checks. Stop configure if msgfmt was not found(gettext not installed). git-svn-id: https://geany.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/geany/trunk@1961 ea778897-0a13-0410-b9d1-a72fbfd435f5
